Following on the most recent activities in comics, meaning Batman is currently both Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson, the Robin position is held by Damian Wayne, etc.
Detailed:[/i]
Darkness has befallen upon the city of Gotham, and with it brings a new strand of criminal - and a new strand of vigilantes. They have not yet been seen, but have nicknamed themselves The Virtue. Their sole contact has not been public, but taken the form of an untraceable radio wave broadcasting from inside Gotham, spoken in the voice of a kidnapped child, it continually states their name, and their mission - to clean up Gotham.
The Virtue has infested the city, and seem intent on taking down Gotham's resident criminals, leading to fresh concern about the state of Gotham's vigilantes. Why who is behind it? And why?
New opinions have arisen in Gotham, opinions of morality, which have began dividing the city - are the new vigilantes such a bad thing if they are destroying the criminal class? Do they deserve the same rights and protection? Are these the saviours of Gotham, and is Batman's principles outdated?
However, others are raising more questions. Should the vigilantism be allowed to continue, or is time the city made a clamp down?
Three dead in third attack on Gotham City.
Three people have died after a fire at Gotham Central Police Station, believed to be the third in a recent spate of arson attempts by a criminal gang called The Virtue. The station, situated in downtown Gotham, was subject to a massive blaze started around 3am last night. It's believed to be linked to the recent attacks on Blackgate Penitentiary and Arkham Asylum, sparking fears of a new vigilante sect. Comissioner Gordon has adamently denied attacks on the criminal housing to be related to Gotham's famous resident vigilante, Batman, stating "nothing could be further from the truth". The gang, self-proclaimed to be called The Virtue, have been terrorising Gotham for two weeks, and claim to be 'cleaning up Gotham's streets'.
However, fresh fears of criminal gangs have arisen, with police reporting armed attacks and firearm shipments are up almost 60% in the past month. Three criminals caught during a recent raid on a warehouse holding over $6,000,000 worth of firearms were killed in the blaze. The three men, unnamed due to legal reasons, were being held in the cells overnight before being transferred. No policemen were believed to have been hurt in the blaze.
The series of attacks have recently led to the deaths of over fifty people, mostly in the massive arson attack on Blackgate, situatued on an island off-shore from Gotham. Police believe the blaze, which has rendered Blackgate unusable, trapped at least twenty five people on the north shore, though these bodies have yet to be found. Twenty others were killed in the blaze at Arkham, including six employees.
Gotham Police have stated they are inquiring into the fire, and believe that the station should be open for business in a week. Extra security and CCTV have been placed.
"It's almost certainly the same gang," Commissioner Gordon stated in a press conference this morning. "There is nothing to identify them by, and we have yet to find a motive or a link, but the attacks are very precise and premeditated, it's quite clear they have been well organised, and for that reason we believe we're looking at a quite vast gang spread across Gotham. We believe they pose no immediate threat to the citizens of Gotham, as the specific nature of their attacks does not suggest a widespread attack on the city."
Before the closure of the press conference, Gordon was adament they would find and trace the attackers.
"We are confident we shall bring this gang to justice."

Whilst this news has been spreading like wildfire, hot on the lips of every Gotham journalist with a tongue wagging, the unnamed gang have began making strides forward, having killed over forty criminals to date - and many innocent citizens too. They seem to be restless with their killings, planning attacks all over Gotham. Now, word is rippling through the underworld that their leader is planning to don a Batman suit, in order to frame Gotham's finest vigilante as the supposed leader of The Virtue...
